Hmm… seems Rogers has stopped having their own newsservers, and made a deal with GigaNews. The good: Retention is now a month or so. The bad: Only 2 connections, and it’s not on the Rogers network, so max speed: 30k/sec/connection. That’s down from the 200-300k/sec total from before. :(

Oh well, all the more reason to use BitTorrent…

Grrr…. our internet connection is fairly slow. Like, I get pings > 1000ms to web sites. It sucks ass.

Tomorrow I’m going to plug my laptop straight into the modem and see if that’s the problem. We also moved the modem to a different cable outlet, so I’ll plug it back into the original one to see if that makes a difference.

After that… it’s time to bitch at Rogers. I’m not paying nearly $100 / month for a shitty connection, and this has been going on for a couple months now.

Hung out with Mai Ling last night… we camped out at this building at York University and just played guitar and sang. She showed me how to play “Leila” (good old Clapton… hehe) now I gotta learn it and get good, that’s a nice song… it was soooooo much fun! Yay!

Rogers won’t budge on their stupid stupid mistake… I signed up for a business account and they’re STILL charging $10 extra / month for the cable outlet (nobody here watches cable TV). They sprang this charge on me AFTER I got them to install it and everything. No mention of this charge on their website. Dumb mother Q!@#!. Grrr… and we’ve got a line with Sprint so… can’t get DSL. Bah. I’m just fed up with that.

Well, Evelyn’s coming over so that’ll probably cheer me up a bit. I also went out for dinner with Anna and Vera earlier, that was fun. ‘course, didn’t much like their choice of establishment… but whatever! *wink* ‘neways… ciao world!
