More furnace issues
You may remember I had a little furnace problem with the flame sensor a while ago (was that 3 months ago already)? Over the last few weeks I’ve had a new problem – instead of the furnace turning off mere seconds after the burners lit (that problem was a failure in the flame sensor), this time my furnace would turn on, and then shut off after about 30 seconds. When the blower fan turned on, I thought I heard water sloshing around in there.
Consulting with my father-in-law, who knows a lot about these things, I learned that clogged condensate drainage is a big problem with a lot of these furnaces. I searched through the maze of tubing and found my problem with the condensate trap – it was clogged. I cleaned it out, but I’ve had to do that a few times now and a few days after cleaning, it’s clogged again.
I’m going to try ordering a replacement (this ebay store looked great for this!) and see if that solves the problem!
