Happy New Year All!

January 01, 2009 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Happy New Year to everyone! I’m just recovering from an evening at Milestone’s (they had a delicious menu, although they were rushing us like crazy to eat it… and then took an hour to come with our bills. But the food was decent).

Then we had some friends over. Didn’t get to play Rock Band to the new year, but saw some funny videos and just generally hung out. It was nice and relaxing!

Here’s wishing you all a prosperous year to come!

Hallowe’en Pictures Posted

November 01, 2008 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Pictures (and videos!) of my Hallowe’en escapades have been posted. We had lots of kids come by, although not as many as we had thought. The lack of sidewalk on this side of the street and us being a corner house probably had something to do with that.

Anyway, it was fun, we met some more of our neighbours…

Now, what to do with all that leftover candy…??

Fiancée’s Uncle’s B-day party

June 17, 2007 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Last week (the evening of that infertility conference, actually), I was also at a surprise b-day party for my fiancée’s uncle (Surprise party put on by his wife). It was a lot of fun — great music, great food, and we danced all night long.

I have a few pictures for those of you who have accounts… (if you don’t, just ask).

Facebook… aaah

January 25, 2007 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Ok, so a friend of mine mentioned facebook at work. Of course, I’d heard about it. So I went over to check it out.

Those damned friend linkages are addictive, I tell you. You just keep following those lists and finding all the people you’d forgotten about in high school, etc! Wow…

Anyway, so I now have an account. I’ll probably lose interest in the whole social networking thing soon but for now… find me if you can. :)

In other news, my Zire is dead. Well, it sortof works when it’s plugged in but the battery is completely dead, and the screen is all discolored. Do I want to replace the battery and have a semi-functional palm? No. So I ordered a Dell Axim… I’ll give you the scoop on it when I get it.

Of Weddings and mullberries

June 28, 2005 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Well, this past weekend I went to the second wedding I’ve ever been to. I suppose it’s the third, although my aunt’s wedding (which I attended when I was about 6 years old) I really can’t remember at all, so it doesn’t count.

The wedding was for my girlfriend’s friend Roseanna, and the GF was a bridesmaid. So, in keeping with my previous record, I’ve picked up a bridesmaid (well, sortof…) at each wedding I was at. lol.

A few things…

June 20, 2005 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Hello there!

As you may have gathered, I finished my surgery rotation last week. Exams were busy, but I think went well. ‘Twas a fun rotation, but I’m really not fond of the hours.

Now I’ve started 2 weeks of Gynecology out at St. Joe’s … nice little hospital. And the fellows/residents are pretty nice… got to do a bunch, and hey, I actually feel like I know stuff… it’s a nice feeling. :)

In between, I went up to my girlfriend’s cottage.

Weekend in Ottawa

May 30, 2005 By: DancingSamurai Category: Musings, My Life

I just got back from Ottawa this weekend… what an awesome trip!

Drive up was OK, it only started raining near Ottawa. Yeah, I rented a car for the trip up… took my old bike (remember I won a new one last summer at this play I went to…) up since my bro’s got swiped. :(

Driving is so much fun… I’d forgotten that. The problem with Canada though is that it is so huge… you have to drive for most of a day to get ANYWHERE. And the speed limits suck big time. Well, who pays attention to them anyway?

Backup Quest

February 20, 2005 By: DancingSamurai Category: Site News

Well, no posts in like FOREVER. Had a bit of a birthday bash a couple of weeks back… but almost everybody passed on showing up in favour of studying. Hmph. Well, at least my girlfriend has friends who show up to these things… ;)

Anyway, finally got some time to organize stuff… and get a good backup solution going. I have 100+ GB of stuff – mp3s, videos and the like – that have been posing a bit of a dillema for me in terms of backing up. If my HDD dies… well, bye-bye years of work and some great memories.
