Princess of Sunshine (2000)

Yes, another sappy poem extolling the virtues of woman. At least it’s not another depressing one, right? :)

This one was inspired by my friend Alison (not my ex-gf of the same given name…). She’s such a super nice person. I miss her; I think she’s doing well in Ottawa, last I heard. Yay!

Princess of sunshine,
whose bright golden hair,
rivals even Apollo’s chariot
as it streaks
across the pristine blue sky.
Your sparkling eyes and mirthful smile
glow with the innocence of your soul,
and send others soaring high above,
giddy with the weaving
of your free, adventurous, determined spirit,
which radiates an angelic aura,
that warms the heart,
and twists into shame,
those who harbour dark thoughts.
While such beauty graces the world,
how can ought but joy sing in the hearts of men?
