Taking apart my Zire 72

January 16, 2007 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Breast pockets are evil. Especially the ones in scrubs, without any buttons.

Today we were having a great day — procedural skills day in Family Medicine, where we learn to do lots of ‘procedures’. We had workshops on injecting joints, airway management, excising skin lesions, and casting (putting plaster casts on, not this Harry Potter stuff!). Things were going swimmingly. I had the casting session at the end of the day and it was just in time, too — I’m currently on my Emerg rotation and boy do I suck at casting.

Now, as you may know, one of the steps involved is to dip your dry plaster in a bucket of water so that it can get wet and then harden into the solid casts we know so well. Unfortunately, the bucket was on the floor, and as I was bending over, my PDA falls out of my pocket and *plop* right into the plastery water.

Needless to say, it drowned. And seems to be quite dead. So I got out google and found these disassembly instructions, and am trying to revive it by airing it out and cleaning everything really well. If I’m really lucky, nothing short-circuited and it’ll work once it’s had a bit of a rest… we’ll see. *fingers crossed*
