ER in Thunder Bay

July 26, 2004 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Well, today was my first day of “work” here in T-Bay. Got the tour of Health Sciences North (same as last year, pretty much). There’s a girl from my class up here, too, which is pretty cool. She’s doing surgery for a couple of weeks and then joining us in the ER for another two weeks.

I also met a Mac student who had the unfortunate circumstance of being the third person in a two bedroom apartment. NOMP found him his own place today, so he was much relieved. :)

Otherwise… the ER was cool. Quite a lot of abdo pain today (not mine, the patients’ *g*). And apparently I don’t have a shift tomorrow. All the better, it’ll give me a chance to do a TON of review my brief stint today reminded me (like a jackhammer over the head can be said to “remind”) that I absolutely need to do….

Then this evening we went out Kayaking on the river. That was fun… there’s quite a few other students in the area, and they’re all really friendly and a ton of fun to hang out with! It’s great! After that we played a game of ultimate frisbee… which I haven’t played since… oh since Olivia and I… no that’s not true. I played with a few of Sam’s friends sometime this year.

I still suck. :)

Tomorrow we may head out to Kekabeka falls… I’ll have to remember to bring my camera so I can post some pictures for my remembring pleasure.

Now maybe I’ll try to compose some poetry that dropped into my head. Or maybe I’ll just sleep, I’m pretty exhausted…
