Miscellaneous Ramblings

April 09, 2003 By: DancingSamurai Category: My Life

Well, I had a pretty good weekend. I realize the weekend is long gone, but, I didn’t talk about it so I guess I will here. This is kind of long and rambling, and STILL doesn’t cover everything I did. But, whatever, can’t have it all, can you?

We didn’t have school on Friday, another day of classes victimized by the SARS thing. But that’s ok. Honestly I can’t remember what I did on Friday. Oh, that’s right, slept most of the day. Jitin was over Thurs. night watching Kenshin and then I was up pretty late playing some game or other. Gotta start my weekend off right, no?

And then I got Master of Orion 3 which made things even worse. Man, that game is addictive. We had a lot of free time this weekend, so I could indulge a little bit.

That’s not to say I didn’t get anything productive done. I did my taxes. You can file them on-line for free with Quicken if, like me, you make a student income. :) It’s very convenient.

On Saturday night I also went to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra perform Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7 in E Major, with Sam. I went with Sam, not they were performing it with Samantha. :) That was pretty good, even though I’m told I fell asleep during the second movement. (I was just resting my eyes to… umm… better appreciate the auditory input. That’s right.) No, seriously, it was a great performance, as always. Well, OK, so that’s the only performance of the TSO I’ve been to that I can remember, but I like them. Especially the flutes. But, I may be biased. Anyway, you can apparently get tickets very cheaply through tsoundcheck, which seems to work a little like the NAC’s Live Rush program. All these incentives to get young people involved in the arts… I like saving money. More to put towards my EvIl plan for world domination, Muahahahaha…. *ahem*

Afterwards, I even had dinner at Sam’s place. This is getting to be a habit… I should stop that. She’s super nice and all, but I don’t want to push my luck.

On Sunday, well, I slept lots again, did a little bit of review (did I mention we’re studying the BRAIN? Pretty interesting stuff), and then went out to Lula. Sam was the only person there I knew, I was so sad. :( Although, there was a cute girl I was almost hitting on. Ok, so I was trying, but, as usual with me, it doesn’t get anywhere. She did say she’d probably be there next week, so of course I’m going. (I was planning to anyway, really.)

However… none of the people I invited from class showed up, I’m sorry to say. Oh well, I’ll drag them out next time.

Hmm… skipping a couple of days (nothing truly eventful happened, except I didn’t get enough sleep…)… today I have to clean up the mess left by the weekend’s ravages (it’s sortof just over, since we had Tuesday off as well)… which isn’t going to happen. To procrastinate from cleaning I prepped for our Orbital Groove rehearsal tomorrow. We’re getting ready for spring fling and are trying to go through a lot of music. I can’t believe I played around on that sax for like 3 hours… where did all the time go?? Heh… and now I’ve been writing this for like 10 minutes. If you care, come see us on May 9th. Also, I have the CD of our last gig in October, if anyone wants to listen to them. I can give you a copy or an FTP addy, just ask.

So now, I think, I’ll go to bed. If I wake up early, I’ll clean up. I have to wake up a little early so I can take my suit in to the dry cleaner’s before I go to school (formal on Saturday, yay!), but, 9:20 is super early for me to go to bed so who knows what will happen?

Ok, well, that was long and boring. Good night.
